People are asking for a bit of info on how I define “kid” for Nostalgiamas purposes. So here’s my thought process for picking things in general, including what I mean by “kid”:
"kid" is kind of subjective term. Probably because of my height, I guess, I was called Kid probably until my 20’s by people who didn’t know my name and wanted to get my attention. So, my idea of "kid" is probably a longer span of time than others.
That being said, for these purposes I count kid as ending when I graduated high school. So this means that it had to be a TV series that I saw before 2004.
This does NOT mean it had to air on american TV before 2004! I just had to have watched it, possibly with the power of the internet.
Also, it could mean stuff that aired before I was even born! Reruns happen people! I watched a lot of “old” cartoons as well as new things.
It also can’t just be any old show that I saw, I had to have liked it of course, this is all about my nostalgia. I don’t even have to like it now! I’ve done nostalgiamas pictures for things I think are bad in retrospect, but that’s half of nostalgia anyways. Besides, I’ve found it’s fun to draw fan art with rose tinted glasses.
I only do TV series, because I was a TV kid. I watched a TON of series, mostly cartoons. I played video games and watched movies, and read comic books, but those just seem to have less of an impact on me than TV did back then. Maybe because I could watch a lot of TV and draw while doing it, or because it was moving drawings and I liked looking at the art styles, I dunno.
And lastly, I’ve been trying to not repeat shows, but I’m going to run out of shows eventually! So when that time comes I’ll probably do new characters from shows I’ve already done.
